Luusi Kateme is a dance artist with a strong interest in spirituality. She is originally from Uganda but born and raised in Sweden. She sees dancing as a way of getting in touch with her ancestors' heritage and inner self. Through dancing she has been able to develop her spiritual practice handed down by her elders. She actively engages with her artistic practice, utilizing it as a foundation for her choreographic work.
For Luusi, dancing is therapeutic in the sense that it gives people the opportunity to express themselves in ways not possible with words. Being true to her values and listening to her inner voice is fundamental. That's something she practices in her artistry.
